Archway into Quality Education for grades 7-12
Opening in August 2026, Archway seeks to blend three modes of learning to create an innovative model uniquely designed to support the educational needs of underserved communities of the Mississippi Delta. The school primarily seeks to mitigate one of the biggest challenges currently facing rural school districts: the recruitment and retention of excellent teachers. By significantly reducing the number of required on-campus days and leveraging the increasing customizability and effectiveness of remote learning platforms, the school has the potential to remove geographic hurdles and attract outstanding faculty from across the region. Additionally, Archway’s home base is strategically placed in the “Heart of the Delta” (Belzoni) making it a realistic option for thousands of eligible students across the region. Bringing a personal touch through an innovative, tuition-free education option to communities in great need, the blended model will be driven by three main modes of learning shown below.

Learning in-person online
Engaged together
Engaging, Synchronous Online Learning. Most mornings, students will attend live, online classes with Mississippi-based teachers, who will provide engaging and rich instruction utilizing the best research-proven strategies for remote, synchronous learning. All core classes will take place in this format and will be delivered on grade level and aligned with state standards. While most students will be learning from their homes, there will be limited space provided on campus, for those with the greatest need, to work in a classroom with professional adult supervision.

At your pace, wherever you are
Online at your pace
Targeted, Self-Paced Asynchronous Learning. In the afternoons, students will work independently, most of them from home, on teacher-prescribed learning activities that are differentiated based on individual student’s needs. The school will partner with an online digital learning platform to ensure students are engaged in quality learning activities while teachers will remain accessible each afternoon for live tutoring sessions and teacher-student conferences.

Let’s get together!
On campus, face to face
Intentional, On-Campus Learning. Periodically, all staff and students will converge on campus to engage in formal assessments (tests, presentations, labs, etc.), introductory lessons for the next instructional unit, and culture-building activities. The on-campus experience is designed to provide extra levels of accountability, allow teachers and students to make meaningful personal connections, and provide opportunities for students to engage in extra-curricular activities.
